Styrian Pumpkin Seed Oil PGI
Premium Styrian Pumpkin Seed Oil with Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) — the Green Gold of Styria. Cold-pressed from 100% roasted Styrian pumpkin seeds of the Cucurbita pepo var. styriaca variety. The seeds are gently roasted at 80–120°C and hydraulically pressed at approximately 300 bar — a pure natural product without additives, colorings, or preservatives. Only water and salt are permitted as pressing aids. The oil displays a unique dichromatism: vivid green in thin layers, deep red to brown in thick layers — an optical phenomenon created by chlorophyll, carotenoids, and flavonoids. Intensely nutty flavor with fine caramel and roasting notes, slightly sweet with nuances of fresh bread crust and walnut. Thick, velvety mouthfeel. Rich in Vitamin E (56 mg/100 ml), phytosterols (400 mg/100 ml) and over 80% unsaturated fatty acids. Each bottle carries a banderole with an individual control number for complete traceability from field to plate. EU-protected since 1996. Over 3,700 producers and 40 oil mills form the Steirisches Kürbiskernöl PGI community. Perfect for salads, Styrian bean salad, soups, vanilla ice cream, and as an elegant finishing touch — never heat (smoke point 120°C).
